CRZ YOGA vs Colorfulkoala: Which Align-Style Legging to Buy on Amazon

Buy the CRZ YOGA Butterluxe if you want the softest, lightest Align-style legging and a pair we have worn, and the Colorfulkoala Dreamlux if you want a no-front-seam cut, an XXL, or a 28-inch length.

Both are brushed nylon and Lycra leggings sold on Amazon by the brands themselves, and on paper they are closer than their names suggest. The differences are in construction, sizing, compression and how much we actually know about each.

What we know is uneven, so here it is up front. We have worn the CRZ YOGA Butterluxe for our Lululemon dupes guide and Alo dupes guide, and we quote those findings below. We haven't tested the Colorfulkoala Dreamlux; everything on it comes from Colorfulkoala's Dreamlux product page and its Amazon listing, read on September 28, 2026. Side by side

Polyamide and nylon are the same fibre, so the two fabrics share a blend with each other and with Lululemon's Nulu, which Lululemon lists as 81% nylon and 19% Lycra elastane. Our activewear fabric chart explains why that ratio produces the soft, low-compression feel people call buttery.

Fabric and feel

CRZ YOGA describes Butterluxe as extremely soft, lightweight and brushed, with "very gentle compression" and four-way stretch, and lists it for yoga or lounging. That matches what we found. In the dupes guide, "the fabric has the same barely-there feel, with a lightly brushed finish that slides over skin instead of gripping it", and "in our yoga flows the Butterluxe behaved almost exactly like the Align."

Colorfulkoala describes Dreamlux as its "signature ultra-soft fabric" with "a second-skin feel", a smooth brushed finish and stretch "that supports and holds you in all the right places", for yoga, Pilates, lounging and light-impact workouts. Read against CRZ's wording, that suggests a little more hold than the Butterluxe, but that is the maker's description, not something we have measured.

If lightness is what you want from an Align-style legging, the Butterluxe is the known quantity. If you find Butterluxe or Nulu a bit too loose on the body, the Dreamlux is the one to try.

Construction: the no-front-seam question

The biggest design difference is at the front. Colorfulkoala's Dreamlux is built with no front seam, which it says gives "a smooth, streamlined look" and a "chafe-free fit". A front seam is the line that runs down the centre of the crotch on most leggings; removing it is mostly about appearance in fitted, light-coloured fabric.

The Butterluxe uses conventional construction with a crotch gusset and what CRZ calls a seamless waistband. CRZ YOGA sells separate No Front Seam styles if you want that cut from the brand.

Rise, waistband and length

Both are high-rise, and neither brand gives a rise measurement on the listing. CRZ's listing says the high rise "holds everything in place", and our yoga pants guide notes a hidden waistband pocket that takes a key and a card; Colorfulkoala's says its high-rise seamless waistband gives "a secure, stay-in-place fit", with no pocket on the standard version.

On the Butterluxe waistband, our testing has two findings worth repeating. From the Alo dupes guide: "It falls short at the waistband, which is softer and, on the pair we've worn weekly for a year, has loosened noticeably." From our best yoga pants guide: "our tester at around 5'2" found it folded over in deep seated twists. Taller testers had no problem." We have no equivalent data for the Dreamlux waistband.

Length is where Colorfulkoala's listing is more flexible. The Dreamlux listing sells a 25-inch inseam, which Colorfulkoala labels its petite fit for people under 5 ft 4, and a 28-inch standard fit, on the same page. The main Butterluxe listing we link is the 25-inch; CRZ YOGA sells other lengths as separate listings. If you are between 5 ft 2 and 5 ft 7, a 25-inch inseam usually lands just above the ankle; our petite yoga pants guide covers shorter options.

Opacity

This is the question everyone asks, so it is worth being precise about what each claim means.

CRZ YOGA's listing calls the Butterluxe "squat proof". In our Lululemon dupes testing the Butterluxe was "squat-proof in every color we tried", and our yoga pants guide found opacity "solid in black and the darker colors". We have not published a named light colour for it, so if you want a pale shade, do your own squat test at home with the tags on.

Colorfulkoala's claim is narrower and more specific: its Lycra Black technology is meant to reduce "grin-through in dark shades", which is the paler base yarn showing through a stretched dark fabric. It doesn't claim anything about light colours. We haven't squat-tested the Dreamlux.

Our advice for both: buy black, navy or another dark colour if opacity matters, and check in a mirror in daylight before you remove the tags. The squat-proof leggings guide covers pairs chosen for opacity first.

Size charts

CRZ YOGA sizes the Butterluxe XXS to XL on its main listing and site, and runs a separate plus listing. Our dupes guide found CRZ closest to true Lululemon sizing, so an Align size usually maps across; our yoga pants guide found it slightly small next to Lululemon. Between sizes, that points to sizing up.

Colorfulkoala runs XS to XXL on the Dreamlux listing, one size further at the top than the main Butterluxe listing and one smaller at the bottom. Neither brand's chart matches Lululemon's numbers exactly, so measure your waist and hips and use the chart on the listing. Our sizing guide collects fit notes across brands.

Care

The care lines are nearly the same. CRZ YOGA: machine wash cold with like colours, no bleach, tumble dry low, no ironing or dry cleaning. Colorfulkoala: machine wash cold with like colours and tumble dry low "to help maintain softness, stretch, and shape", no bleach. Soft nylon and Lycra blends pill where they rub, so wash inside out and skip fabric softener; our guide on how to wash leggings has the routine.

Buying on Amazon

This is one comparison where both brands are safe Amazon buys. In our check of who sells 30 brands on Amazon, all 19 CRZ YOGA results were sold by CRZ YOGA, and 19 of 20 Colorfulkoala results by Colorfulkoala. At our September 28, 2026 check, both listings linked here were in stock from the brands' own storefronts.

One caution on Colorfulkoala: some of our older guides recommend its Buttery Soft High Waisted legging. That is a different line from the Dreamlux, and it did not return an available offer through Amazon's product API at our check, which is why this comparison uses the Dreamlux.

Which to buy
