CRZ YOGA vs Baleaf: Which Amazon Activewear Brand to Buy for Leggings, Shorts and Tops

CRZ YOGA vs Baleaf, the two big brand-run activewear stores on Amazon: fabric blends, size ranges, pockets and stated features for leggings, shorts and tops.

Quick answer

Buy CRZ YOGA if you want the softest, most Lululemon-like fabric and the brand's named fabric lines; its Butterluxe is 81% polyamide and 19% Lycra and the chart runs XXS to XL. Buy Baleaf if you want pockets on everything, a polyester option that dries faster, or sizes up to 3XL. Both sell through their own Amazon stores, so either is a safe buy.

CRZ YOGA is the brand to buy when fabric feel comes first, and Baleaf is the brand to buy when pockets, a faster-drying polyester and sizes above XL come first. If you are choosing between the two biggest brand-run activewear stores on Amazon, that split holds across leggings, shorts and tops, and the details below show where it comes from.

We haven't tested these against each other; the comparison comes from both brands' Amazon listings, CRZ YOGA's fabric and size guides, Baleaf's product pages and size charts, and our existing tested review of the CRZ Butterluxe legging.

Two Amazon-native brands with different homes

Both brands are built for Amazon. In our survey of which activewear brands sell on Amazon, every CRZ YOGA and every Baleaf listing we checked was sold by the brand's own storefront, which means a full size and colour run on one page and a standard Amazon return.

They differ in what they publish. CRZ names its fabrics and puts the blends in one place: Butterluxe (81% polyamide, 19% Lycra, "yoga, low-impact workouts, daily wear"), Butterlift (74/26, "a bit more compression and thickness", for yoga, Pilates and workouts), Butterbreeze (78/22, "sweat-wicking & ultra fast-drying" for running and training), Nakedfeel (78/22, for hot yoga) and Feathery-Fit Soft (86% polyester, 14% elastane, for running). Baleaf's size guide page sends you to each product for its chart, and the blends sit on the product pages: 80% nylon and 20% spandex for the Flyleaf legging, 87% polyester and 13% spandex for the 5" biker short, 75% nylon and 25% spandex for the 8". Baleaf's range also runs further into cycling, hiking and winter gear, which is why it shows up in our fleece-lined leggings and running jackets guides and CRZ mostly in the yoga ones.

Leggings: Butterluxe against Baleaf's pocket leggings

The CRZ YOGA Butterluxe 25" is the brand's flagship and the best-known Lululemon Align dupe on Amazon. The listing gives it a seamless high waistband, "very gentle compression" and a 7/8 length that sits above the ankle; CRZ's fabric guide adds "4-way ultra stretch with shape retention" and a "brushed finish". It is also the one product in this comparison we have worn, in our year-long CRZ YOGA vs Lululemon test, which found the waistband relaxed after about six months while the fabric held up.

Baleaf's High Waisted Leggings with Pockets is a different brief. The listing describes "soft fabric, matte finish", moisture-wicking and "non see through", a high rise with a "no-dig waistband", deep side pockets that "lie flat against your legs", a hidden waistband pocket, a seamless inner thigh and "slightly compressive" fabric, in a 25" 7/8 length for "yoga, training or just running errands". Baleaf's newer pocket legging does state its blend, 74% polyamide and 26% Lycra, the same ratio CRZ uses for Butterlift, with a seamless front and tummy-control waistband. On its own site, Baleaf's Flyleaf Seamless Leggings are 80% nylon, 20% spandex, "brushed, soft, stretchy & moisture-wicking" and "passed the squat test & non-see-through", with a 25.8" inseam in size L.

The pattern: CRZ sells softness and names a compression level; Baleaf sells pockets and opacity claims and keeps the hand a little firmer. CRZ makes a pocketed Butterluxe too, and if you want more hold from CRZ, our Butterluxe vs Butterlift comparison explains the firmer line.

CRZ's listings name a compression level for every fabric; Baleaf's describe pockets, opacity and drying first.

Shorts: soft and plain, or pocketed and firmer

CRZ's Butterluxe Biker Shorts 6" are the leggings cut short: the same fabric, a seamless waistband the listing calls "weightless as air", a gusset and a hem CRZ says is "intended to sit mid thigh length". The line runs 2.5", 4", 6" and pocketed 5" and 8", and there is a no-front-seam 6"; our Align shorts dupes guide sets each length against Lululemon's.

Baleaf's High Waist Biker Shorts with 3 Pockets are the best-selling shorts of either brand. The listing promises "squat-proof" four-way stretch, "soft, supportive compression", an anti-slip, no-roll waistband, two thigh pockets plus a hidden waist pocket, and 3", 5" and 8" inseams with a gusset and flatlock seams. Baleaf's 5" product page gives the fabric as 87% polyester, 13% spandex with "moderate compression". Choose Baleaf if you carry a phone; choose CRZ if you want the Align Short feel.

Tops: a built-in bra versus a loose running tank

Here the brands aim at different classes. CRZ's Butterluxe Racerback Tank is a tight, waist-length tank with a built-in bra and removable pads, rated "light support" and filed under "yoga or lounge". It is one layer for a mat class. Baleaf's Racerback Workout Tank is a loose polyester-spandex tank with a scoop neck, wide straps "for easy layering over any sports bra" and a curved, extended hem, and Baleaf's own listing note says to size up if you prefer it looser. Its plainer workout tank adds reflective elements for low-light runs.

So for yoga and Pilates CRZ's tank does the job alone; for running Baleaf's is the layer you wear over the bra you already trust. Baleaf's own bra line, the Nuleaf longline, is wire-free with molded cups and a criss-cross back, and the listing calls it high impact. For tested bras, our sports bras for yoga and Pilates and high-impact sports bras guides cover picks we have worn.

A fitted top with a built-in bra is CRZ's answer for mat classes; Baleaf's tanks are loose layers for running.

Size charts: CRZ stops at XL, Baleaf keeps going

CRZ's size guide covers bottoms by waist and hip from XXS to XL, and tops by bust from 31.5" (XXS) to 40.5" (XL). Baleaf's charts sit on each product page and add a height band, which no other brand we cover does.

Size CRZ waist / hip Baleaf waist / hip (leggings and shorts) Baleaf height
XXS 23.0" / 33.5" Not offered
XS 24.4" / 35.0" 24 to 25.5" / 33.5 to 35.5" 5'1" to 5'3"
S 26.6" / 37.0" 26 to 27.5" / 36 to 37.5" 5'3" to 5'5"
M 28.5" / 39.0" 28 to 29.5" / 38 to 39.5" 5'5" to 5'7"
L 30.5" / 41.0" 30 to 32.5" / 39.5 to 42" 5'7" to 5'9"
XL 32.5" / 43.0" 33 to 36.5" / 42.5 to 46" 5'9" to 5'11"
XXL Not offered 37 to 40.5" / 46.5 to 50.5" 5'11" to 6'1"
3XL Not offered 41 to 43" / 51 to 53" 6'1" to 6'3"

The two charts line up closely through L. Above that, Baleaf is the only option, and its XL is already roomier than CRZ's. Both brands say to measure on the body, waist at the narrowest point and hips at the widest; CRZ adds that its inseams are measured "from crotch to ankle bone". Our activewear sizing table has fit notes from the CRZ pieces we have tested, and the plus-size activewear guide covers brands with consistent extended sizing.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is CRZ YOGA or Baleaf better quality?

Neither brand publishes anything that settles it, and we have only worn CRZ's Butterluxe. On paper CRZ gives more detail: named fabrics, blends and a compression level per line. Baleaf gives pockets, opacity and drying claims per product. Both sell from their own Amazon stores, so returns are the same.

Which is more like Lululemon, CRZ YOGA or Baleaf?

CRZ YOGA. Butterluxe shares Nulu's 81/19 nylon and Lycra split and the Align's seamless waistband; our Lululemon dupes guide explains why it is the benchmark. Baleaf's leggings are built around pockets and a slightly firmer hand.

Does Baleaf run bigger than CRZ YOGA?

Through size L the two charts are within about half an inch of each other. Baleaf's XL covers a wider waist range than CRZ's, and Baleaf continues to 3XL where CRZ stops at XL.

Do CRZ YOGA and Baleaf sell on Amazon directly?

Yes. Every listing from both brands in our September 2026 check was sold by the brand's own storefront, not a reseller, which is the cleanest way to buy activewear on Amazon.
